Town hall for veterans set for Friday, July 11, at Bevill Business Center

HAMILTON — The Second Annual Northwest Alabama Veterans Town Hall meeting is set for next Friday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Bevill Business Center in Hamilton. On hand will be a number of officials from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, along with local veteran representatives and officials, all offering valuable information and assistance to veterans.

Emerson earns Eagle Scout rank

HAMILTON — Hamilton’s Caleb Emerson earned his way into Eagle Scouts on May 6 of this year after completing his project to renovate Hamilton’s Arboretum at the walking trail. According to Hamilton’s Troop 56 Scout Master John Sims, Emerson began his scout journey around the time he was in first grade in the Cub Scouts. Sims bragged on Emerson’s willingness to serve and lead throughout the years, a role that the scouting program encourages.

Todd Clippard is new chairman of the board for Hospice of Northwest Alabama

Burleson Church of Christ Preacher Todd Clippard is the new chairman of the board of Hospice of Northwest Alabama.

HAMILTON — Todd Clippard was recently elected as chairman of the board for Hospice of Northwest Alabama. He began serving as a board member in 2017.
Clippard replaced former chairman Judge Ed Gosa, who served in the role for approximately 20 years.
Clippard said he was encouraged by board member Lisa Murphy to fill the vacancy.
“At first, I deferred to anyone else who wanted to serve, because I’m the newest member of the board--even at eight years,” he said. “But then I said, ‘If you think I’m fit, then I’ll do it.’”

Hamilton applies for $1.467 million for industrial park site preparation through ‘Growing Alabama’ program

HAMILTON — The City of Hamilton will be applying for $1,467,000 in funding through the “Growing Alabama” program to develop two sites in the Hamilton I-22 Industrial Park after the city council approved the measure at a special-called meeting on Friday, May 16.
