Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force seeking sponsors for annual golf tournament; Sept. 16 deadline

HAMILTON — For 18 years, the Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force has held a golf tournament on the first Friday in October to help raise funds for survivors of domestic violence. With a Safeplace shelter now located in Marion County, all funds raised at this tournament stay in the county to help with needs at the shelter.

Dylan and Shelby Reese help raise over $300k for flood relief

Winfield Popular social media content creator couple Dylan and Shelby Reese have helped raise over $300,000 for flood relief efforts in Texas after severe flooding in the Texas hill country in July. “Since we started doing social media, that’s like the number one coolest thing that’s happened to us,” Dylan said.

$3 million in improvements planned for Marion County Lake

HAMILTON — A mandatory pre-bid conference was held on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Marion County Lake for those interested in bidding on site improvements needed to return the lake to fishing, picknicking and other recreation and tourism opportunities.
