Pirates overcome rain, early miscues to put away Haleyville

HALEYVILLE — The Winfield Pirates overcame a slow start in the first half to later put away the Haleyville Lions 26-14 on Friday, Sep. 1 in Haleyville.
The win improved the Pirates record to 2-0 on the young 2023 season.
Penalties plagued the Pirates throughout the game, but Winfield overcame the miscues and put away the Lions in the second half.
