Ruby Sue Crowe Harbin

Ruby Sue Crowe Harbin, 96, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin.
She was born on April 10, 1926. She retired from Arrow Manufacturing Company and lived most of her life in the community of Pearidge. She was an active member of Free Waters Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and later Burleson Church of Christ with husband Talvage.

Patricia Ann Green

Ms. Patricia Ann Green, 76, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, at the Northwest Medical Center. Ms. Green was born in Cordova on April 25, 1946, to Robert and Jewell Bell Akers.   
She spent much of her life as a caregiver, she loved to spend her spare time dancing and visiting with family and friends. Life was often hard for Ms. Green, but she was always willing to help others in any way she could.

Robbie N. Tice, originally from Hamilton passed away on Sept. 12, 2022, at the age of 87.
She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in Murfreesboro, Tenn. She was born in Hamilton on June 24, 1935, to the late John Elgar Skinner and Hester Viola Skinner.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1954, in Sulligent to the late Buster Turman and the late Dorothy Faye Holliday.  
She attended Ray High School in Kearney, Ariz. She previously worked as a supervisor at McCoy Manufacturing.  She enjoyed studying genealogy.

Darryl A. Roberts

Darryl A. Roberts, 61, of La Follette, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022.
He was born in Hamilton on May 24, 1961, to Willard Roberts and Joyce Roberts. 
He was a devoted father. He enjoyed playing music, watching Alabama football and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness and ability to light up a room. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

William Braden Morris

Mr. William “Bill” Braden Morris, 63, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at the UAB Medical Center after a nine-year battle with illness.
Mr. Morris was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Chester, Pa., to Nelson Morris and Anna Jarek Thompson. Mr. Morris was a 1976 graduate of Guin High School and a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church. He spent much of his life working for the Winfield Cotton Mill where he retired after 28 years of service. His greatest joys in life were spending time with family, making people laugh and the Christmas season.

He was born on Dec. 31,1952, in Mississippi to Alfred B. Kennedy and Roberta Williamson Kennedy.

Nancy Diane Hood Brock

Nancy Diane Hood Brock, 69, of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at Diversicare in Winfield.  
She was born on May 7, 1953, in Millport to the late Mack Hood and the late Lou Nell Allen. She attended schools in Lamar County. She previously worked in Sulligent at McCoy Manufacturing. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Laura Marie Little Rainwater

Mrs. Laura Marie Little Rainwater, better known as Marie, 63, of Vernon, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, in the Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.
She was born to Clarence and Bobbie Shaw Little on Aug. 1, 1959, in Fayette County. She attended Hubbertville High School and was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church. Mrs. Rainwater’s greatest love in life was being a mother, maw maw, and sister, she also enjoyed watching Alabama Football in her spare time.

Miss. Ilean Myers, 89, of Brilliant, passed away on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  
She was born the only child to Clarence and Cutie Norris Myers on June 3, 1933, in Marion County.
She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church for 68 years. She was a 1951 graduate of Brilliant High School and a member of the first Brilliant High School Marching Band, where she played the flute.  

Betty June Veal Miller

Mrs. Betty June Veal Miller, 88, of Brilliant, passed away on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at the Plantation Manor Nursing Facility.
Mrs. Miller was born on Oct. 31, 1933, in Roanoke to Luther Sr., and Minnie Pearl Brown Veal. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Brilliant Church of God where she served as the pianist for over 50 years. Mrs. Miller enjoyed working, she spent much of her life as a seamstress for Tullahoma Industries until her retirement.

James Norris Frederick

James Norris Frederick, 77, of Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1944, in Smithville, Miss. He is the son of the late S. R. and Lily Foster Frederick and the husband of the late Iris Geraldine Weeks Frederick. He lived in Winfield most of his life, was a member of the South Hamilton Free Will Baptist Church and had served in the Alabama National Guard.  

James L. Dodd Jr.

James L. Dodd, Jr. was born on Nov. 29, 1943, and crossed from this life into his eternal home with Jesus on Aug. 27, 2022.
He was a long-time member and deacon of Hamilton Church of Christ. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and everything he did was to glorify Him. He was the most kind-hearted, giving and honorable person you would ever have the good fortune to meet.
Mr. Dodd grew up in the town of Lynn in Winston County, where he met his bride of 60 years. They lived in Texas, Georgia and then Tuscumbia before settling in Hamilton.

Helen Cox

Helen Cox, 85, of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at her residence.
She was born on March 20, 1937, in Dayton, Tenn. She is the daughter of the late Jesse and Esther Bedwell  Yother and the wife of the late William Jay Cox.
She lived in Hamilton most of her life and was a member of the Detroit Church Of God. She enjoyed traveling, gospel music and her family.

Shirley Ann Channell

Mrs. Shirley Ann Channell, 68, of Guin, passed away on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at the Sunset Manor Health Care Facility in Guin.  
Mrs. Channell was born in Vernon on Oct. 1, 1953, to Pervy Lee and Roseetta Edgewater Moore. She was a member of the Concord Church of God in Winfield. Mrs. Channell was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, nanny, sister and friend.

Susan Kathleen Taylor Thomas Castillo

Susan Kathleen Taylor Thomas Castillo, 62, of Birmingham, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Huntsville after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Although her journey with cancer was long and excruciating, she passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones offering words of love and comfort.

Belinda "Bell" Wenzel, 47, of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at the Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1974, in Deridder, La., to the late John Duplonty, Sr. and the late Linda Duplonty. She attended schools in Texas. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, and her role as a cheer coach. She was of Christian faith.  

Linda Darlene Carter Laux

Linda Darlene Carter Laux, 68, of Pinson, Tenn., passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at 7:36 a.m. in Jackson, Tenn.
She was born on Friday, Aug. 13, 1954, in Waukegan, Ill., to Hubert and Betty Carter. She was the oldest of six children.
She attended Zion Benton Township High School in Zion, Ill. She co-owned 2 Sisters Kitchen in Tremont, Miss. She loved antiques, yard sales and vintage places.

George Green Langford

George Green Langford, 78, of Hamilton, was called home on Aug. 25, 2022.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1944, in Houston, Miss., to the late William Green Langford and Canzy LaNora Thompson Langford. He was a truck driver.

Lemual Justin Harbin

Mr. Lemual Justin Harbin, 32, of Winfield passed, away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at the Northwest Medical Center.
He was born in Amory, Miss., on July 25, 1990, to Lemual Eric Harbin and Maudie McGough Cagle. He was employed with the Moore’s 129 Shell Station and loved to spend his spare time hunting and fishing.

Troy Jackson Green

Mr. Troy Jackson Green, 83, of Guin, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  
Mr. Green was born in the Pea Ridge community on Sept. 2, 1938, to Grady Lee and Stella Mae Harris Green.

Carol Gann

Carol Gann, 75, of Guin, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin.
She was born on May 12, 1947, in Fayette, and was the daughter of the late Felix and Carrie Benton Gann.  She lived in Guin all of her life, and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Guin where she had also served as a custodian for many years.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service for Ms. Gann was held on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, from the Guin City Cemetery.
Bro. Kenny Hatcher was the officiating minister.

Diane Anderson Davis

Mrs. Diane Anderson Davis, 71, of the Hubbertville community, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022.
Mrs. Davis was born on Sept. 18, 1950, to Buddy and Hilda Webster Tucker. She was a member of the Berea Church of Christ and a 1968 graduate of Hubbertville High School. She spent her life caring for her family and loved ones, a job which she enjoyed immensely.

Larry Wade Upton

Larry Wade Upton, 81, of Hodges, passed away on Aug. 17, 2022, at the Helen Keller Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1941, to the late Curfew "Chaulk" and Dorini Spencer Upton. He was a quality control inspector at NTN Bower.
He is survived by his wife - Anita "Cricket" Boyett; son - Ricky (Nichole) Upton; grandchildren - Trent (Ashley) Upton, Rykie Upton, Nickie Upton and Bailey Scott; great-grandchildren - Chasidy and Hunter Upton; brother - Jimmy Upton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Melissa Dawn Sandlin Stovall

Mrs. Melissa Dawn Sandlin Stovall, 53, of Winfield, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022. She was born on July 14, 1969, in Moline, Ill., to Louis Scott and Peggy Sexton Sandlin. She was a member of the Musgrove Chapel Methodist Church and a 1987 graduate of Winfield City High School.
She was a cosmetologist and beautician for 32 years and co-owner of Sunset Hair Designs in Winfield from September 1996 until her retirement in December 2018.

James R. Spencer, SMSgt, USAF, retired, 94, of O'Fallon, Ill., was born on March 7, 1928, in Bexar. He is the oldest of eight children. He passed away on Aug. 19, 2022, at the Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Dorothy Jean Otts, 79, of Guin, passed away at her daughter's residence in Somerville on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022.
She was born on Feb. 17, 1943, in Lamar County to the late Andrew Price and the late Myrtie Bell Smith. She attended Lamar County schools. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was of Southern Baptist faith and a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church.

Mr. Robert Earl Bull, 84, of Winfield, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at the Ashville Heath Care Center in Ashville.
Mr. Bull was born in Winfield on May 5, 1938, to Fred and Novilene Davis Bull. He was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Winfield City High School and was selected to Alabama All-State football team. He was employed with Continental Conveyor and Equipment Company, Inc. in Winfield for over 40 years as Shop Forman and building 3 Supervisor. Mr. Bull enjoyed square dancing and watching Alabama Football.
