Jimmie Harold Moore

Jimmie Harold Moore passed away on Wednesday May 11, 2022, at the age of 86.
He was born on Feb. 16, 1936, in Hackleburg to the late William Markie Moore and Grace Giddy Moore Turner. He passed away peacefully from Alzheimers surrounded by his loving family at a care facility in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Michael Byrd McCaleb

Mr. Michael Byrd McCaleb 68, of Hubbertville, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
Mr. McCaleb was born in Akron, Ohio, on Aug. 31, 1953, to Johnnie B. and Ida Lou McCaleb. He was a 1971 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years. He spent much of his life working as a truck driver, most recently with Atlaco, LLC until his retirement.

Jeff Martin

Jeff Martin, 57, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Jasper, on Friday, Aug. 21, 1964, to Jimmy Leon Martin and Linda Gail Turner Martin.

Johnnie McRight Guin

Mrs. Johnnie McRight Guin, 96, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in the Fayette Long Term Care Facility in Fayette.
Mrs. Guin was born in a small town called Pleasant Site in Franklin County on Aug. 1, 1925, to William Austin and Elizabeth Mariah McRight. Mrs. Guin spent her life taking care of her family, she enjoyed sewing, homemaking, and she especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Herman Fields Jr.

Herman Fields, Jr., 83, of Brilliant, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1938, in Ft. Benning, Ga. He is the son of the late Lucille Ward Fields, and the late Herman Edward Fields, Sr. and  the husband of Gwendolyn Miller Fields. They were married for 62 years. He lived in Brilliant most of his life and was partner and supervisor for Gateway Foodland Grocery Stores for 33 years. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Winfield Free Will Baptist Church.

Mary Box

Mrs. Mary Box, 89, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Country Place Assisted Living.
She was born in Fayette County on Dec. 11, 1932, to LeRoy “Shorty” and Irene Lee Foster. She attended Winfield High School. She lived her entire adult life in Marion County. She was a member of the Brilliant Church of Christ. She was known throughout the community for her good deeds, her kind and loving heart and always caring for others.

Johnnie Lee Barnes

Johnnie Lee Barnes, 74, of St. Mary's, Ga., formerly of Bear Creek, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in Georgia.  
He was born on April 23, 1948, in Walker Co., to the late Johnny Barnes and the late Dorothy Bennett. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after two years service.  

Quenton Williams

Quenton Williams, 98, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1923, to Fred Williams and Mattie Harris Williams.
He is survived by his daughter - Rhonda (Tony) Miller; grandchildren - Katie (Jaysun) Taylor, Haley (J.W.) Gordon, Ben Miller, Seth Miller and Madison Miller; seven great- grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death his wife - Myrtle Williams; and parents - Fred Williams and Mattie Harris Williams.

David Bart Webster

Mr. David Bart Webster, 58, of the Twin community, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, in the U.A.B. Medical Center.
He was born on July 6, 1963, to David and Susan Beck Webster. He was a 1981 graduate of Winfield City High School and spent much of his life working in construction for Quantum Construction Inc.
Mr. Webster is survived by his mother - Susan Webster; brother - Eric (Tammie) Webster; sister - Kelly (Chris) Ballard; nephews - Nick Ballard, Conner Ballard and Brandon O’Dell; great-nephew - Myles O’Dell; and a host of other family members and many friends.

Amanda Gardner South

Amanda Gardner South (aka babe, sister, wife, sweet pea, bunky, mando) was a free spirit with a loving compassionate heart. She left this world suddenly and way too soon on April 24, 2022, at the age of 40. She was so beloved and will be forever missed by her family and friends. She was raised in Winfield and graduated from Winfield City High School class of 2000. She then attended Auburn University where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Harrison School of Pharmacy in 2008.

Leila Pearl Potts

Mrs. Leila Pearl Potts, 81, of Eldridge, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in the Diversicare Nursing Home in Winfield.
Mrs. Potts was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 13, 1941, to Harold and Dorothy Faulkner.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her son - Carl Danny Potts of Tuscaloosa; and daughter - Leila Potts of Janesville WI.
Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by her husband - Carl Potts; daughter-in-law - Lisa Marek; and her parents.  
A memorial service for Mrs. Potts was held at a later by the Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield.

Delbert Guinn Preuninger

Brother Delbert Guinn Preuninger, 71, of Winfield, formerly of Sherman, TX, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home.
He was born in Bowie, TX, on April 28, 1950, to Robert Lee and Edna Lee Partridge Preuninger. He was a 1968 graduate of Sherman High School in Sherman, TX, and attended Grayson County Community College and earned his drafting degree. In 1970, Mr. Preuninger was called into the ministry and attended Oklahoma Missionary Baptist Seminary in Marlow, Okla., and graduated in 1971, he then served as a traveling preacher.  

Charles McCollum

Charles McCollum passed away on April 28, 2022, doing what he loved, tending to his garden.
He was born to Gertis Terrell and Pina Lee McCollum on April 15th, 1944. He was the primary caregiver for his parents until they passed. He was the eighth of twelve children.

Michael Jeff Matthews

Mr. Michael Jeff Matthews, 75, of the Bluff community, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Matthews was born in Fayette on Oct. 7, 1946, to Glen Matthews and Patsy Shirley Anderson.  Mr. Matthews was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church and a 1965 graduate of Winfield City High School. He was a United States Naval Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He spent much of his life working as a truck driver, and he loved working outdoors.

Rebecca Lochart Elrod

Rebecca Lockhart Elrod, 78, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at her residence.
She was born on June 8, 1943, in Lamar County to the late Earnest and Mellie Webb Lockhart.
She is survived by her children - Patrick Jeffreys, Jesse Jeffreys, Tammy Burton and Judy Tucker; a host of grand, great, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two loving husbands - Jimmy Jeffreys and Royce Elrod; daughter - Betty Jean Jeffreys; and grandson - Jimmy Tucker.

Donna J. Hubbert Tucker

Mrs. Donna J. Hubbert Tucker, 64, of the Whites Chapel Community, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at her residence.  
She was born in Marion County on June 25, 1957, to Austin and Emma Lee Benton Hubbert. She attended Winfield City High School and Whites Chapel Church of Christ. She worked for many years at Reltoc Manufacturing of Winfield, Arvin, Inc. of Fayette and Jan’s of Winfield.

Timothy Lamar Smith

Mr. Timothy Lamar Smith, better known as Tim, 58, of Guin, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, in the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center.
Mr. Smith was born in Winfield on Feb. 25, 1964, to Jerry Lamar Smith and Juanice Simmons Robinson. Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Guin and a 1982 graduate of Marion County High School. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and he spent much of his life working at the 3M Company in Guin.

Larry Rollen Ozbirn

Larry Rollen Ozbirn, 74, of Spruce Pine, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Russellville Hospital ER.
He was a die-hard Alabama fan, loved Nascar
and watching western movies. He had a huge heart and would help anyone in a time of need. He was a good Christian man and attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Frog Pond. He retired after working 35 years at NTN Bower. He loved his family and leaves them many wonderful memories.

Clayton Cordice O’Mary

Dr. Clayton Cordice O’Mary, 101, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at his residence.  
Mr. O’Mary was born in Eldridge on Aug. 10, 1920, to Marion and Minnie Pearl Hamilton O’Mary.
He was a member of the Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church near Rock City and valedictorian of the 1939 graduating class of Hubbertville High School. After high school he started his internship at Berry Collage in Rome, Ga.

Atticus Lee Lambert

Precious angel Atticus Lee Lambert, beloved infant son of Austin Lambert and Tristen Weldon, of Carbon Hill, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
Atticus laughed and smiled throughout his 4 months and 5 days, he was always bringing joy and happiness to everyone he touched.

Villa Elizabeth Campbell Hanks

Villa Elizabeth Campbell Hanks, 69, of Rainsville, passed away on April 24, 2022.
An extraordinary and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Elizabeth was a passionate elementary school teacher for 35 years. She taught school primarily in Williamson County, Tenn., but also in Alabama and Louisiana. She influenced over 800 students in her long career and mentored many beginning teachers and principals. She was named “Teacher of the Year” in 2002 at Crockett Elementary in Brentwood, Tenn.

Linda Stanford Brewer, 77, of Detroit, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at her residence.  
She was born on April 28, 1944, in Marion County to the late Clayton Stanford and the late Nancy Watkins Stanford. She previously worked at Detroit Slacks. She attended church at Detroit Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, yard work, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Thomas Joe Norris

Mr. Thomas Joe Norris, better known as Tommy, 60, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in the Courtyard Community Living Center in Fulton, Miss.
Mr. Norris was born in Marion County on Sept. 22, 1961, to Larry Norris and Joann Tidwell Norris. He was a member of the Winfield Mason Lodge #110 and attended Winfield City High School. He was employed with Warrior Met # 4 for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed 4-wheeler riding, and riding horses and was a world champion in coon hunting and showing coonhounds.

Hudon Marbutt

Hudon Marbutt, 81, of Hodges, passed away on April 12, 2022, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 24, 1941, to the late George and Annie Marbutt.
He is survived by his wife - Jerry Marbutt; children - Shelia (David) Wooten, Cheryl Emerson (Special Friend Wayne Franks), Eugene (Tracy) Marbutt, Shelly Carter (Special Friend Lester Arnold), Jeremy (Devin) Marbutt and Karla (Cody) Chism; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren-with one on way; and brother - Tony Marbutt.

Roger O’Dell Hulsey

Mr. Roger O’Dell Hulsey, 76, of Brilliant, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Hulsey was born in Brilliant on Jan. 11, 1946, to O’Dell and Vernell Hulsey. He was a member of the Gold Mine Church of Christ in Brilliant, AL and of the Brilliant Masonic Lodge # 601. He worked with various mining companies for over 34 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors and volunteering at Diversicare of Winfield for Sunday Communion.

Billy Ray Lee

Mr. Billy Ray Lee, 83, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin.
Mr. Lee was born on July 4, 1938, to Gurley and Mamie Bishop Lee. He was a member of the Concord First Pentecostal Church of God and attended Winfield City High School. He was employed with Hayes Aircraft Corporation for 26 years and later retired from The Boeing Company. He enjoyed Alabama Football and spending time with his family and friends.   

Margaret Evelyn Kennedy Jordan

Margaret Evelyn Kennedy Jordan, 69, of Hamilton, passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
She was born on June 25, 1952, in Nettleton, Miss., to the late Robert D. Kennedy and Mamie Edwards Kennedy. She attended school in Wren, Miss., and graduated from Northwest Shoals Community College. She was employed at Love's in Hamilton and worked as the City Clerk in Detroit. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to church, flowers, humming birds and cooking.

Lucas Jay Rayman

Lucas Jay Rayman passed away peacefully in the arms of his parents on Monday, April 4, 2022. Lucas was born on March 22, 2022, to his parents Zackary and Haley Minor Rayman of West Point, Miss. During his short time here on earth he touched many lives and was loved deeply by his family. His brief life was a gift from God to his parents and to all his family that will live on in their hearts forever.

She is survived by her daughter - Janet Frye; great-granddaughter - Courtney (Jordan) Baccus; great-grandchildren - Raelynn Baccus and Grant Baccus; relative - Patsy Frye; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Lynn was born on March 2, 1956, in Marion County to Elzo and Willie May Lynch Lynn. Mr. Lynn was a 1974 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He was a welder and retired from Fontaine Trailer Co. after 20 years of service.

Margaret Joyce Ledlow Ent

Mrs. Margaret Joyce Ledlow Ent, 78, of San Rafael, Calif., formerly of Winfield, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, in the San Rafael Healthcare and Wellness Center.
Mrs. Ent was born on Aug. 2, 1943, in Marion County to Dill and Vera Waits Ledlow. Mrs. Ent was a graduate of Winfield City High School and spent much of her life working as a clerk for the State Government.
Mrs. Ent is survived by her only son - Michael Ent and his wife; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson, all of whom look forward to reuniting with her in Heaven.

Tara Lee Estes, 42, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton.
She was born in Alabama on Saturday, May, 19, 1979, to Ginger Estes and Stanley Estes.
She is survived by her mother - Ginger Estes; father - Stanley Estes; sons - Paxton Burnett, Wyett Burnett; grandson - Bryton Burnett; brother - Brad (Tyrena) Estes; nephew - Dylan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death her grandparents - Garvis and Daisy Estes, Herbert and Anna Darty; cousins - Selina Darty and Hunter Milam.

Mrs. Judy Ann Beasley, 67, of Eldridge, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in the Northwest Medical Center.  
She was born in Jasper on Aug. 13, 1954, to Edgar and Teny Millwood Beasley. She was a member of the Kansas Baptist Church in Kansas and a 1972 graduate of Carbon Hill High School. She worked with the Bank of Carbon Hill for over 15 years as a teller and in the bookkeeping department.

Billy Craig Allen, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Helen Keller Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Alabama on Sunday, Feb. 1, 1942.  
He is survived by his sons - Jeffery (Tamara) Allen, Chad Allen and Todd Allen; grandchildren - Alexa Allen, Dylan Allen, Neyland Allen and Kendall Allen; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Johnny Mack Lawler

Johnny Mack Lawler, CPA, 75, was born on Dec. 8, 1946, to James C. Lawler and Annie Lee Real Lawler in Byrd Alabama.
He graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor of science in accounting, obtained his CPA license and worked for over 50 years in public accounting, providing personalized tax, accounting, business services, and consulting advise to a variety of clients. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and his clients. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton.
