Winfield-Popular social media content creator couple Dylan and Shelby Reese have helped raise over $300,000 for flood relief efforts in Texas after severe flooding in the Texas hill country in July.
“Since we started doing social media, that’s like the number one coolest thing that’s happened to us,” Dylan said.
Dylan and Shelby had the idea after previously donating

proceeds from shirt sales to help provide relief for another disaster last year.
“Taylor from Tees by Taylor reached out to me,” Shelby said. “We had done a collection with her last year where we designed t-shirts and sold them, but that was more of a collab where we could make money, and it was a great time.
“When Hurricane Helene hit, we donated a portion of our proceeds from that T-shirt drop to Samaritan’s Purse to help with hurricane relief.
“So, when the flood relief started happening (in Texas), Taylor reached out and said she wanted to be a part of it and asked if we wanted to partner with her again.
“So, she designed one T-shirt, and we posted and promoted it to see what we could do.”
We did not expect the response that we got from that,” Dylan said. “Shelby posted it, and we went out to eat at Huatulco, and when we got done, Taylor called her and said we’re about to hit $10,000.”
“We were like, wow, that’s great!” Dylan said. “It could stop there, and we’ve already done so much. Taylor was almost in tears.
“By the time we went to bed that night, it was at $50k. Then the next morning it was at $100k, then it just kept on growing and kept on growing. Eventually it ramped up to $330,000.”
“We donated 100 percent of the proceeds to Samaritan’s Purse, and we chose that organization because we know that they had boots on the ground already providing relief, and it’s a good Christian organization,” Shelby said. “They’re very reputable.”
“You can guarantee where your money’s going with Samaritan’s Purse,” Dylan added. “We just feel very blessed that God chose us to do that fundraiser.
“He could have chosen anybody, and it would have gotten done either way. It’s nothing that we did, or Taylor did. He just used us as a vessel, and it was the coolest experience because of that. We were just blown away the whole time!”
“Having this platform is such a blessing because we’re able to do stuff like that,” Shelby said. “If nothing else comes out of having this platform, I’m just thankful that we were able to use it to spread that to so many people to get those orders and donations.”
