Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force seeking sponsors for annual golf tournament; Sept. 16 deadline

HAMILTON — For 18 years, the Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force has held a golf tournament on the first Friday in October to help raise funds for survivors of domestic violence.
With a Safeplace shelter now located in Marion County, all funds raised at this tournament stay in the county to help with needs at the shelter.
The task force is seeking new sponsorships for the Friday, Oct. 3, tournament this year, as well as requesting the continued participation of their loyal year-to-year sponsors.
“We would love to give you an opportunity to help support domestic violence victims through participating in this fundraising event,” said task force co-chair Kim Lolley.
“If you have been so generous to sponsor in the past, we are hoping you can do so again this year.”
Task force co-chair Bobby Blaylock noted the golf tournament provides a great opportunity to get the whole county involved in helping to raise awareness and funds.
“The golf tournament is our largest fundraiser of the year, by far,” he said. “And to me, it serves as so much more than a fundraiser. The golf tournament allows everyone to come together for a common goal.
