GUIN — The Guin City Council canvassed its election results from the Tuesday, Aug. 26, municipal elections during its council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The council passed resolutions approving the results of Bobby Bellew being elected mayor, and councilwoman Regina Salter being re-elected.
Mayor Phil Segraves and the council also presented Guin Elementary School Principal Dustin Silas with a check of $12,672.57 as a contribution from the city to the school.
A matching contribution was made to the high school, but principal Seth Seaborn was unable to attend the meeting. Another check of a little over $6,000 was made for the school’s reserve fund.
