PUBLIC NOTICE
The Marion County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee will meet December 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Marion County Commission office located at 119 Military Street North, Hamilton, AL. The purpose of this hearing will be to discuss the Northwest Alabama Hazard Mitigation Plan, which addresses natural hazards and mitigation efforts for Franklin, Colbert, Marion, Winston, Walker and Lamar counties. Information to be presented includes the purpose and contents of the plan and the county’s hazard mitigation strategy. All citizens are urged to express their views on the community’s hazard mitigation policies.
Individuals not attending the public hearing may send written comments to: North Alabama Council of Local Governments/Hazard Mitigation Plan, P.O. Box 2603, Muscle Shoals, AL. 35561. Under provisions of the American Disabilities Act Of 1990, individuals wishing to attend the public hearing with special requirements should call (256) 332-8850 at least five days prior to the date of the hearing. Hearing impaired individuals having access to TDD may contact via the Alabama Relay Service at 1-800-548-2546.
