Tommy Clayton Wisecarver Sr., 88, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
He was born to Frank and Lillian Josie Kirk Wisecarver in Greene County, TN on Aug. 10, 1936. As a farmer and a logger for most of his life, he was no stranger to hard work. He was a Mason of 62 years. He served in the United States Army for four years and served in the Army Reserves for several years after discharge. During his time in the Army, he served one year in Germany. He loved to fish and spend time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Regenia Wisecarver; son, Tommy Slab (Kris) Wisecarver Jr.; grandchildren, Lacey (Bryan) Frederick and Layton Wisecarver; and great-grandchildren, Jake Frederick and Katie Frederick.
He is also survived by his sister, Bettie Joe Evers; sisters-in-law, Linda (Wade) Sullins, Julia Mae Owsley, Helen (Johnny) Robertson; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Virginia) Williams, Johnny Burrow, and Vecil (Jane) Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rudella Williams Wisecarver; parents, Frank and Lillian Wisecarver; brother, Johnnie Wisecarver; son-in-law, Eddie Gatlin; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Gene) Byrd, Letha Burrow, JoAnn Williams, and Evelyn Wisecarver; and brothers-in-law, Lowell (Cassie) Williams, Dewayne Rye, Joseph Owsley, and Karl Evers.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 16, 2024, at the Marion County Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Meherg and Andy Skinner officiating.
Pallbearers will include Johnny Robertson, Vecil Williams, Ricky Skinner, Eddie Byrd, Jeff Williams, Brent Robertson, Scott Robertson, and Stevie Robinson.
