New CEO lands in Marion County

HAMILTON - The new Northwest Alabama Economic Development Agency President Tom Wisemiller has been on a bit of a Marion County tour in the past week, visiting and introducing himself to the Marion County Commission, Hamilton City Council and Winfield City Council. Wisemiller addressed the Marion County Commission on Monday, April 19, during a regular meeting at the Marion County Commission office in Hamilton.

Aderholt attends annual EDA meeting

WINFIELD - Congressman Robert Aderholt attended the Ninth Annual Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (Northwest Alabama EDA) meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Winfield Pastime Theatre Civic Center.

Aderholt was the recipient of the Northwest Alabama EDA Champion award at the meeting in the previous year.
“I want to thank you all after receiving the (Champion) award this time a year ago. I appreciate the honor that you gave me that,” said Aderholt.

 

C3 invites public to attend annual meeting on Jan. 21

WINFIELD – The ninth annual meeting of C3 of Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance, will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Pastime Theater Civic Center in Winfield.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the program will begin at 9. Attendees may enjoy coffee, a continental breakfast and networking with friends and business as they wait for the program to begin.
There is no charge to attend the meeting.

Rural strategist confident with C3

GUIN - Economic development officials are optimistic concerning Marion County’s future.
Brian Hilson of Hoover,  who serves as a rural development strategist for the Economic Development Association of Alabama, reviewed the county’s economic state and potential during the Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (EDA)’s annual membership appreciation luncheon on Thursday, July 25, at the Holiday Inn in Guin.

Push continuing for automotive

GUIN - Economic development officials are continuing to push to attract the automotive industry to Marion County.
“It’s hard to beat our area as a location for automotive,” said Northwest Alabama Economic Development Alliance (EDA) Executive Director David Thornell during the EDA’s annual membership appreciation luncheon on Thursday, July 25, at the Holiday Inn in Guin.
