Fay Rene Williams
Mrs. Fay Rene Williams, 85, of Guin, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her daughter’s residence. Fay was born on July 9, 1939, in Hamilton, to Elvin and Mattie Pratt Nelson.
Shortly after her birth, her family relocated to Michigan for her father’s work. At the age of 6, they returned to Marion County, where Fay grew up. At the age of 17, Fay married her children’s father, Leonard Channell. Together, they moved to Illinois for better opportunities. During their time there, they welcomed two sons. Realizing the importance of raising their children in the south, they returned to Marion County, where they raised their family. Fay was a faithful member of Concord Church of God as long as her health allowed. She dedicated 25 years of her life to the textile industry, working in various plants throughout the area until her retirement. Fay was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, always there to offer unwavering support and love to her family.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her three sons, Billy Channell, Roger Channell (Joann) and Frankie Channell (Amanda); her daughter, Norma Hill (Tim); nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Brian Williams; grandson, Bryan Allan Garza; great-grandson, Stephen Andreu Ray; brother, Alvin “Butch” Nelson; two infant sisters; and one infant brother.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams were held on July 2, 2025, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery near Pea Ridge.
