Aggies headed to playoffs with 28-6 win over Wildcats

BIRMINGHAM — The Hamilton Aggies ended their regular season on Friday night, Nov. 1, with a 28-6 victory over the Tarrant Wildcats.
The Aggies were the first to score with a 60-yard pass from Mason Holloway to Coley Gilstrap for a touchdown with about eight minutes remaining in the first quarter.
The PAT missed, but the Aggies were leading 6-0.
In the second quarter, Eli Harris scored a touchdown on a 25-yard rush, but missed the PAT again. Regardless, they were leading 12-0 with about four minutes left in the half.
Harris scored again on a 4-yard rushing touchdown, and this time, Harris followed it up with 2 more points to put the Aggies ahead 20-0 going into halftime.
Harris scored on another 4-yard rush with 10 minutes to go in the third quarter. With an added 2 points, the Aggies topped out their score at 28-0.
Tarrant scored with a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but failed to earn an extra 2 points, leaving with only 6 points to Hamilton’s 28.
Holloway completed 2 out of 4 passes for 76 yards and 1 touchdown. Harris rushed for 155 yards over 16 carries and scored 3 touchdowns. Houston Tibbs caught 2 passes for 24 yards.
The Aggies end their regular season with an overall record of 9-2, and a region record of 5-2. The Aggies finished the season ranked third in Region 5.
The Hamilton Aggies will advance to the playoffs. They will travel to play Central Florence this Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m.
