Christian Center of Concern in Hamilton offers community-funded assistance to those in need

Christian Center of Concern Director J.J. Headrick began as a volunteer in 1995. She has been the director for the last 10 years.

HAMILTON — The Christian Center of Concern in Hamilton is an answer to prayers for many, providing food and aid in various ways to those going through tough times or to the elderly, whose limited incomes don’t often match their current needs.

Jeff Fleming chosen as Hamilton’s ‘Citizen of the Year'

HAMILTON —During the grand finale of the “Best of Hamilton” awards during the chamber’s annual “Dinner on First” event on April 22, pastor Jeff Fleming was chosen as “Citizen of the Year.”

‘Ready to soar’

Tyree Wilson, a Hamilton graduate, is playing the flute internationally and has also played in an orchestra for a movie soundtrack He also attends the University of Alabama

HAMILTON — Hamilton High School Alumni Tyree Wilson, 20, is traveling internationally to play his flute in orchestras, for solo performances and ensemble concerts, for competitions, as well as a two-week tour with an OperaMaya group in Mexico. He also participated in an orchestra recently which recorded a major motion picture soundtrack to be announced later this year.

VFW formation meeting set for March 25 at HPD

HAMILTON — If eligible veterans throughout Marion County and the surrounding areas are interested in forming a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post in Hamilton, they should attend a meeting on Tuesday, March 25, at the Hamilton Police Department Auditorium at 6 p.m.
VFW Post 5184 Russellville Commander Eric Reason and his post are sponsoring the possible startup and will be at the meeting to answer questions and provide guidance.
