WINFIELD — The Winfield Pirates used three first half pick 6 touchdowns to set the pace as the Pirates cruised to a 42-12 Class 3A, Region 5 victory over the Midfield Patriots on Friday, Sept. 6, in Winfield.
Walt Hennicke, Blaine Bowen and Sean Wyers each intercepted passes and returned them for touchdowns to lead the defense in the region win.
Neither team could get much going offensively as Winfield and Midfield only gained 150 and 157 total yards respectively.
