Mr. Buddy Eugene Norris, 87, of Winfield, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Norris was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Fayette County, Ala., to Grant and Eloise McDonald Norris.
Buddy was a 1958 graduate of Winfield High School and a faithful member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He served his country with dedication as a member of the United States National Guard for many years. After high school, he began his long and successful career in construction with H H Robertson Construction Company, where he worked until his retirement. Never one to remain idle, Buddy later became co-owner and operator of Northwest Bama Builders, continuing his passion for building and hard work until his second retirement. In addition to his career in construction, Buddy was a cattle farmer and co-owner of Norris Bro. Farms, where he worked side by side with his brothers. When not working, Buddy could often be found on the golf course, tending to his farm or enjoying the company of his beloved family.
Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Wynell Halcomb Norris; his children, Gaye McDanel (Phil), Gary Norris (Ginny), Delaina Harrison (Jeff), Don Housh (Lisa) and Lisa Firmin (Damon Lagle); his grandchildren, Casey McDanel (Roxanne), Samantha McDanel, Bailey Norris, Grant Norris, Garrett Harrison (Kirsten), Emma Trull (Korlan), Melody Harrison, Taylor Lesandrini (Patrick), Sydney Housh and Nick Firmin; his brother, David Norris (Lana); his uncle, Jimmy McDonald (Jean); his sister-in-law, Shelia Norris; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Eloise Norris; his brother, Arnold Norris; his infant sister, Melinda Norris; and an infant brother.
Funeral services for Mr. Norris were held on April 22, 2026, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Malloy-McDonald Cemetery.
