BEAR CREEK — There’s only one Marion County festival held on the water, and it’s set for this Saturday, July 5, in Bear Creek when the town hosts its annual Friendship Festival at Twin Forks Park on Upper Bear Creek.
Take the whole family and enjoy  the day-long festivities, with live music, lots of food, merchandise and arts and crafts vendors, as well as a car show.
Registration for the Christian Street Rodders Car & Motorcycle Show is from 8-11 a.m. and costs $20 per vehicle. There are 15 different trophies to be given away, as well as door prizes for entrants every 15 minutes.
Music on the main stage starts at 10 a.m. and lasts all day right up until the fireworks show, which begins around 9 p.m.
Artists scheduled to appear include Joseph Baldwin, Mike Jones, Dustin Busbee and Nathan Sandlin, Bound South and festival headliner L.A. Shepherd.
Also, as part of the Independence Day-themed festival, the Winston County Grays Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will hold several cannon firings throughout the day.
