WINFIELD — Winfield Park and Recreation will be hosting the Mr. and Mrs. Northwest Alabama Christmas Pageant on Nov. 19, 2023, at the Winfield Elementary School auditorium.
There will be a $50 entry fee for the pageant and all side events.
Girls and boys 0-18 can enter, and age groups will be determined based on the number of entries.
Attire is mother’s choice: Sunday dress, semi-formal or formal. Three alternates in each age group will receive a banner and a crown for females, and a banner and medallion for males.
Side awards will include most beautiful/handsome, best fashion, prettiest hair, smile, eyes and most photogenic. Winners in each of these events will receive a banner.
Photogenic entry includes one unframed photo no larger than 8x10. Additional photos may be submitted for $10 each, or three for $25. Pictures must be turned in before Nov. 10.
The overall winner will be the contestant with the highest overall beauty score. The winner will receive a very large crown, banner and—with 40 or more entries—a $50 Wal-Mart gift card. Overall side event winners will receive a banner.
All female contestants not placing will be named Future Queens and receive a nice crown. All male contestants not placing will be named Future Kings and receive a nice medallion. No child will leave empty handed.
All entries must be turned in before 5 p.m. on Nov. 10.
Registration on the day of the pageant will be from 1-1:45 p.m., and the pageant will begin at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m.
Sponsor tickets can be sold for $1 each, which will go toward a $50 Wal-Mart gift card to be given away at the pageant, along with other prizes. Selling 75 tickets will earn a participant free entry. Selling 100 will earn the participant free entry and a crown. A participant who sells 150 tickets will earn free entry, a nice trophy and a crown.
The participant who sells the most will be named the Christmas Angel and will receive all gifts above and a $50 Wal-Mart gift card.
Door admission will be $5 for those six and older. Children five and under are free.
