Marion County High School’s Lady Red Raiders are the only Marion County team remaining in the regional tournament after every other team’s season came to an end this week.

The Marion County varsity girls’ team played against the Shoals Christian Flame on Friday, Feb. 17, and won the game 63-42.
Jasmine Wilson led the way for the Lady Raiders with 15 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocks.
Lily Robinson scored 11 points along with 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Porshia Lipsey scored 10 points and made 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Bekah Junkin also scored 10 points.
Alecia Shack scored 7 points, Rachel Roberts scored 8 points and Anna Rhea White scored 2 points. Roberts also grabbed 14 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Shack recorded 8 assists and 3 steals. Junkin made 4 assists.
On Monday, Feb. 13, Marion County defeated Sumiton Christian in the sub-regional round to advance to the regional semi-finals.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the Lady Raiders faced off against Covenant Christian in the regional final.
Marion County’s varsity boys’ team saw their season wrap up with a close 43-41 loss to the Shoals Christian Flame in the semi-final round.

Landon Morrow scored 4 points and made 10 rebounds. Jameson Webb and Dalyce Floyd each scored 4 points.

The Raiders won the sub-regional round against the Addison Bulldogs 77-71, but their 26-7 season came to an end with the loss to Shoals Christian on Friday, Feb. 17.

Hackleburg
Hackleburg’s boys’ and girls’ teams are both done for the season after losses in the opening rounds of the regional tournament.
The Lady Panthers lost their sub-regional game against Covenant Christian 57-38 on Monday, Feb. 13, to wrap up their 13-11 season.
The Panthers lost their sub-regional game 50-40 to the Shoals Christian Flame, who went on the knock out the Raiders. The Panthers ended their season with a record of 11-10.
Hamilton
The Hamilton Lady Aggies played in the sub-regional round on Monday, Feb. 13, which would be their last game of their 22-5 season after a 79-58 loss to the Priceville Bulldogs.
Winfield
The Winfield Pirates lost their subregional game against the Childersburg Tigers 56-39 on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to end their season with a record of 15-12.
Winfield’s Sean Wyers led the Pirates in scoring with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block.
Preston Nelson scored 10 points and recorded 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
Jarrett Hosch scored 6 points, Slate Gilbert scored 4 points and Tylers Mays, Drew Cook and Thackary Box each scored 2 points.
Winfield fans expressed frustration during and after the game over the officials’ calling after 24 fouls were called against the Pirates and only 9 were called against the Tigers.
