Linda Johnson
Linda Johnson, 76, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, after an extended illness. She was born to Howard and Lila (Sandehn) Black on April 18, 1948. She was raised in rural Pecatonica, Ill. She found a love for horses early, as her family over wintered the Rockford Park District horses for many years. Linda graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1966. She married the love of her life, Hubert Johnson, on Valentines Day of 1976.
They shared a wonderful life, moving all over the country before settling in Durand, Ill. For many years, Linda worked for Lindgren, Callihan and Van Osdol in Rockford, Ill., most of her working life. She made many lifelong friends there. Tax season was always the busiest time of year. Come April 15, they would be on the road, traveling to numerous trapshoots all over the U.S. and spending much needed time together. After many years of thought, they made the move to Alabama, where they have enjoyed the last five years in their cabin in the hills.
Linda enjoyed many things in her life. She loved to cook and sew, and there was nothing better than a great book and spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Logan.
Above all else, she was the best momma a girl could ask for.
She is survived by her husband, Bert, of Hamilton; daughter, Jessica (Clayton) Daniels of Freeport, Ill.; grandson, Logan Daniels of Iowa City, Iowa, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Stewart Black and Nancy Germain.
Graveside services were held on Jan. 17, 2025, at Liberty Cemetery in Detroit, Ala.
