BRILLIANT – In his heartfelt novel filled with southern dialect and cliff-hanging decisions, Russell L. Estes shares the wins--and losses in his new book, “When the Lights Go Out.”
The book releases this Friday, Aug. 6, from 3-6 p.m. and an exclusive book-signing event will be held at Brilliant High School, the school and community where Estes based his fictional book on.
Estes, 49, was raised in Brilliant and lived in the Brilliant Housing Projects for the first 18 years and is a 1990 Brilliant High School Graduate where he played football, basketball and ran track. He now lives in Tuscaloosa with his wife, Kristy, and children, Dawson, 22, and Emilee, 14.
