Lauren Brittany Nicole Detwiler
HOT SPRINGS, ARK. — A Hamilton woman and a Haleyville man have been arrested in Arkansas on numerous drug-related charges on Sunday, May 10.
Lauren Brittany Nicole Detwiler, 31, was reported as having a Hamilton address and is facing one charge of simultaneous possession, three charges of possession with intent to deliver and one charge of possession of paraphernalia.
The first possession and the delivery charges are all felonies, while the paraphernalia charge is only a misdemeanor, according to the arrest reports.
Dustin Caleb Busbee, 31, of Haleyville, was also arrested on the same day and is facing charges of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearm (felony), multiple charges of possession of schedule IV, V and VI controlled substances (all felonies), as well as a final charge for possession of paraphernalia.
In Arkansas, the exact charges vary based on the specific amount or weight of the controlled substances possessed, and the specific types.
If a suspect possesses more than a specified aggregate weight, the charges can elevate from misdemeanors to felonies, and potentially carry additional consequences if the suspect possesses the controlled substances with the purpose of delivering them.
According to the arrest reports, Detwiler and Busbee were occupants in a vehicle that was parked in the Sunnybrook landing area (560 Lakepark Drive) in Hot Springs during non-operational hours.
