Lola Prescott

Ms. Lola Prescott, 90, of Winfield, passed away Monday, April 1, 2025, at her residence. 
Ms. Lola was born on Aug. 30, 1934, in Winfield. She loved and faithfully attended her church, Gum Springs Baptist Church, for over 70 years. She found joy in serving and caring for others. She lived her life best explained in Proverbs 31 verse 25-28, "Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed.” She passed down a legacy of how a Christian woman should love and nurture her family. She will be remembered forever by the lives she touched so deeply.
She is survived by her son, Wayne (Diane) Prescott, Winfield; her daughter, Brenda (Frank) Fowler, Winfield; grandchildren, Carrie (Keith) Edmonson, Berry, Kristy (Darrel) Silas, Guin; Dale Prescott, Winfield; Dawn (Alan) Goodwin, Brilliant; Nicholas (Chelsea) Fowler, Winfield; great-grandchildren, Kendall Edmonson, Berry; Grayson (Amanda) Edmonson, Berry; Casey (April) Silas, Guin; Shelby Silas, Guin; Gaven (Katie) Prescott, Parrish; Bryleigh Prescott (EJ), Tuscaloosa; Tanner Nixon, Hamilton; Haley Nixon (Skyler), Hamilton; Breanna Cagle, Hamilton; Annabelle Fowler, Winfield; Grier Fowler, Winfield; Charlie Fowler, Winfield; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, whom she said, “get grander the greater they are;” one brother, L.D. (Ronnie) Benson, Southgate, Mich.; one sister, Helen Lingenfelter, Wyandotte, Mich.; and her closest sister in Christ, Eloise Sandlin.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Ramey Benson, two brothers, Ed and Alvin Benson; and three sisters, Lily Davis, Ethelene Cagle and Iva Benson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Staff of Northwest Alabama, Dr. Stidham and his staff in Fayette, Ala., for the exceptional love and care they have given her over the years.
Funeral services were held at Bowen Funeral Home on April 6, 2025, with burial following at Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
The pallbearers were Kendall Edmonson, Grayson Edmonson, Casey Silas, Gaven Prescott, Alan Goodwin and John Asher McMillan.
