LAMAR COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash occurring at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5, has claimed the life of a Winfield man. James Dwayne Nuckols, 29, was fatally injured when the 2005 Suzuki
C50 Boulevard motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a sign. Nuckols was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Lamar County 41 near Alabama 18, approximately 15 miles southeast of Vernon, in Lamar County. Nothing further concerning the crash is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
Funeral services were held yesterday, April 9, at New Life Church in Winfield. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Allie Mae Nuckols, Macie Nuckols and Aubrey Nuckols; father, James Nuckols and sister, Monica Nuckols.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jalie Taylor Nuckols.
According to the obituary at Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette, Nuckols passed away on April 6. He was born Nov. 29, 1994.
