Lady Aggies’ have spectacular 2024 season

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Lady Aggies Track & Field team may not have been able to grab a state championship title for their team, but they are still a team of champions.

Aggies, Lady Raiders win state track meet

The Marion County Lady Red Raiders and the Hamilton Aggies have each won their respective state track meets, hosted from Thursday, May 2, through May 4.
Hamilton traveled to Gulf Shores to compete in the 4A-7A meet, while all other Marion County teams traveled to Cullman for the 1A-3A meet.
The Aggies won the 4A state boys’ meet with 94 points, over Brooks in second place with 56 points and Anniston in third with 54 points.
The Lady Red Raiders won with 84 points over Marengo with 55 points and Winterboro with 54 points.

Aggies, Raiders win sectional meets


Marion County’s Lily Robinson, Anna Prather and Zella Williams, along with Phillips’ Lexi Morgan and Hackleburg’s Maddie Burt, hit the back stretch during the section meet.
WINFIELD — Winfield hosted the sectional track meet for 1A Section 3, 2A Section 4 and 3A Section 4 on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27.

Raiders win NAC meet

WINFIELD — The Marion County High School boys’ and girls’ varsity track and field teams won the 2024 North Alabama Conference Championship meet on Wednesday, March 13. The meet was hosted in Winfield, with Brilliant, Hackleburg, Lynn, Marion County and Phillips high schools competing for the NAC championship.

Track and field seasons picks up pace

Runners, throwers and jumpers are back on track this season as the 2022-2023 track and field season continues for Marion County teams.
Winfield hosted its 17th annual Ice Breaker Invitational meet on Saturday, Feb. 25, and several teams from the area showed up to compete.
The Hamilton Aggies’ boys claimed first place with 143 points, and the Lady Aggies finished second place with 136.5 points, behind Brooks’ girls who won with 147.5 points.
