A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT
Relating to Marion County; to provide for service of process; and to provide for the collection and dispensation of fees associated with service of process.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. (a) The Sheriff of Marion County may contract with a private, public, or governmental entity for the purpose of service of process for any document other than a warrant for arrest.

Notice is hereby given of a public hearing to occur on June 5, 2023 at the Hamilton City Hall Meeting Room at 6:00 p.m., the purpose of which is to hear public comments regarding the following ordinance to be considered by the City:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY OF HAMILTON ZONING MAP
WHEREAS, The Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, Sections 11-52-70 through 11-42-84 empowers the City of Hamilton to enact the Hamilton Zoning Ordinance and provide for its administration, enforcement, and amendment; and,
Default having been made in the payment of the indebtedness secured by that certain mortgage executed by Aubrey L. Henry, a single man and Jodie L. Owens aka Jodie L.
Relating to Marion County; to create additional qualifications for the office of sheriff.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. In Marion County, after the effective date of this act, any individual seeking to qualify for election to the office of sheriff or any individual appointed to serve as sheriff shall meet all of the following minimum qualifications in addition to any other qualifications required by law:
(1) The individual is a citizen of the United States.
Relating to Marion County; to create the Service of Process Fund; to provide for service of process; and to provide for the collection and dispensation of fees associated with service of process.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. (a) The Marion County Service of Process Fund is created and referred to in this section as the fund. The county commission shall keep an account of all transactions associated with the fund for audit by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts at the same time as the commission's other accounts are audited.
Relating to Marion County; to amend Sections 45-47-230 and 45-47-242.21, Code of Alabama 1975, to abolish certain expense allowances paid to certain county officials; to revise the salaries of the sheriff, revenue commissioner, and members of the county commission; and to repeal Section 45-47-70, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to expense allowances paid to members of the Marion County Commission.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Sections 45-47-230 and 45-47-242.21, Code of Alabama 1975, are amended to read as follows:
