Vinson addresses Hamilton council, thanks those involved with finding her lost mother

HAMILTON — During their Jan. 21 Hamilton City Council meeting, mayor Bob Page noted Kimmy (Burleson) Vinson spoke to those present and the media and thanked everyone involved with helping to locate her mother, Brenda Tice Burleson, 74, who had been reported missing on Jan. 14 and was found later that same day.
“Her mother was lost,” Page told the Journal-Record later. “She has dementia, and she strayed away from home and walked about two miles, and they found her in another community away from her home.
“There was a great outpouring, and Kimmy was so pleased the community came out, and she thanked everyone publically at our meeting for helping to locate her mother.
“We were all worried about her, and when she was found, we were all overjoyed.”

Agenda items
Also addressed on Jan. 21 were several agenda items, including:
• Voting to renew the city’s Municipal Site Plan with Air Med Care Network. The city’s annual cost is $24,041, and the contract provides air ambulance services for the citizens of Hamilton.
• The city also renewed its annual social media development and maintenance contract with Wayne Mays for $3,000, to be paid in monthly installments of $250.
“Wayne posts everything we ask him to post,” Page noted. “And he often--if he thinks of something--will ask if we want it posted. Maybe it’s something of community interest that we haven’t picked up on. He’s good about doing all that.”
• Retro-actively approved the purchase of a 2013 Chevrolet Flatbed Truck from Logan & Logan Auto Sales for $25,000 for use by the Hamilton Street Department.
