Winfield remembers the late Don Studdard

WINFIELD —  Donald T. Studdard was born in Howard (Fayette County), Alabama in 1934.  He passed away November 16, 2022.  
Studdard’s early years were spent in Jasper, where he attended elementary, middle and high school, and Walker College.  He began his career at Alabama Power Company, Gorgas Coal Mine.  
He moved to Winfield in 1962 to work with Continental Conveyor & Equipment Company where he worked in production control and sales for 37 years.  He was a member of the small group who propelled the young company into national and international prominence.  As project sales manager, he was instrumental in developing and marketing Continental’s underground conveying equipment.  He later helped spearhead Continental’s entry into the mobile home industry market with their axle division.  He retired as vice president of the mobile home products division in 1999.
