BRILLIANT - Before joining 4-H in 2011, Abraham Humphrey was a shy Brilliant Elementary School student who just wanted to be left alone. Now, eight years later, Humphrey is winning state awards in public speaking competitions.
“People that know me now say, ‘Oh, I know Abraham, he’s real outgoing,’ but that’s not really who I was,” Humphrey, a graduating senior at Brilliant High School, said.
“Joining 4-H opened a door for me and an opportunity for me. I really owe a lot of my success to 4-H because it shaped me into the person I’m growing into now, and I’m real thankful for that because 4-H has had a positive impact on my life.”
