Lois Jones

Lois Jones, 85, of Guin, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. Born July 29, 1940, in Guin, she is the daughter of the late Lee Olen and Rose Ella Berryhill Markham.
She was born, grew up and went to school in Guin. Later, she moved to Birmingham and worked at Southern Bell as a telephone operator, got married, moved to Adamsville, Ala., and then back home to Guin.
Lois is survived by her daughters Sheila C. (David) Dill of Winfield and Cynthia S. (Rusty) Knierim of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and sister, Janie Sue Gann of Chipley, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Jones; parents; son, Steven Arnold Jones; and sister, Rosa Lee Williams.
Funeral services will be held Feb. 10, 2026, at 3:00 pm, in the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Beaverton Cemetery with Rev. Keith Gann officiating.
