Mrs. Zokie M. Norris, 89, of Winfield, Ala., passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at North Mississippi Health Services–South Marion. Zokie was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Winfield, to William O. McConnell and Marie Perry McConnell.
She was a 1955 graduate of Winfield High School and attended Montevallo College for a short time. After college, she worked with the Winfield Public Library and helped part-time in her mother’s flower shop, assisting with wedding decorations, before becoming a homemaker and caring for her husband and children. An artist at heart, Zokie created many beautiful paintings and was often recognized with awards. She enjoyed decorating and redecorating her home, tending her yard and growing flowers.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ronald Norris; her children, Cindy Reed and Ron Norris (Michelle); her grandchildren Chip Aldridge (Ashley), Brett Aldridge, Vanna Brooke Reed Hyde (Matt) and Hilarie Norris Weeks (Kolby); step grandchildren, Megan and Neal; great-grandchildren Kaelyn, Stetson and Annie Weeks, Harper and Tenley Aldridge, Ashlyn Aldridge and Brooks, Madison and Kinsley Hyde; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Pat Fowler and Barbara Spann.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norris will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Winfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
