WINFIELD - The Winfield Middle School robotics team put on a demonstration during the Winfield City Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, March 12, in the board room at the school.
Members of the team—Seth Birdsong, Easton Couch, Adam Cunningham and Auna-Kate Hale—demonstrated to the board some of the techniques involved in competing on the team and explained some of the rules surrounding the competitions. The team recently placed third in a state competition in Auburn and will travel to Louisville, Ky., on April 28-30 to compete in a national tournament. The squad is one of eight teams from the state that will go.
“These young people stay until 4 o’clock every afternoon getting everything ready. It’s a great honor and I’m extremely proud of them,” Winfield City Schools Superintendent of Education Cook told the board.
