WINFIELD — The Winfield City Council voted to re-stripe Pike Road during its regular city council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Pike Road runs from Highway 118 / 43 from in between State Bank and Trust and the Chevron station, past Faith Church and ends as it intersects County Road 69 behind Walmart.
Councilman Miles Miles recommended re-striping the road during the previous meeting on Dec. 5.
Pike Road used to be striped with a central turn lane, leading into the entrance of what used to be the Sitel building, now the home of the Winfield City Career and Technical Academy and Board of Education office.
The council voted to accept the lower of two bids for $5,250 and move forward with the project.
The council also voted to follow the theater board’s recommendation to appoint Marvin Leathers and Carolyn Jungels to the board to take the place of Ron and Nancy Moss, who are moving out of town.
The council also voted to accept the resignation of Leanne Lenahan from the park board.
