Winfield’s Willa Simmons winds up to pitch against Marion County.
GUIN — The Winfield Lady Pirates defeated the Marion County Lady Red Raiders 16-1 on Monday, March 17.
The Lady Pirates soared to a wide lead over Marion County early in the game, especially in the top of the third when the Lady Pirates hit multiple homeruns, including one grand slam with the bases loaded.
The Lady Pirates improved to 11-4 for their record this year.
Willa Simmons only allowed two hits and threw seven strikeouts.
Kennah Beth Lacy batted 4-4 with one homerun and one RBI.
Molly Kate Elkins batted 3-4 and hit two RBIs.
Karrah Parr hit 2-4 and hit one homerun, along with 7 RBIs.
Hanna Kimbrell also hit 2-4 with one homerun.
Jayci Griffin batted 3-4.
Kaylah May hit one homerun and two RBIs.
Abby Channel made one hit and one RBI.
