Jerry 'Alan' Swinney, 66, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at NMMC Amory, Miss. He was born on Feb. 28, 1958, to Jerry R. Swinney and Vinna Lou Wade.
Jerry will be remembered as a man of strong and quiet character, unfailing loyalty and profound integrity. He loved his home, his family and his Lord. He accomplished many great deeds in his life while working his land and enjoying the outdoors, but he considered the family he leaves behind to be his greatest accomplishment.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tula Sexton Swinney; son, Clint Alan Swinney (wife, Anna); grandson, Nathan Alan Swinney; mother, Vina Lou Swinney; siblings, Laura Gail Kimbrough (husband, Ray), Darrell R. Swinney (wife, Jamie), Sandy Richie (husband, Malcomb), Steve Wade (wife, Jennifer), James Robert Swinney; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry R. Swinney; brothers-in-law, Danny Allison and Ronnie Hall; sister-in-law, Michele Swinney; and his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gideon Ministry, to further the spread of the Gospel of Jesus, or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
