Mr. James Sidney Howell, better known as Bud, 81, of Winfield, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in the Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham.
Mr. Howell was born on Sept. 8, 1940, to James “Bill” and Irene Howell in Fayette County. He was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ and a 1959 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He was the owner/operator of Howell’s Used Cars and JSH Trucking in Winfield for many years. He enjoyed restoring and working on old cars.
Mr. Howell is survived by his wife of over 60 years - Wilma Lee Herren Howell; children - Mark (Marlene) Howell, Jasper, Karen (Tim) White, Winfield, and Jody (Wanda) Howell, Olive Branch, Miss.; six grandchildren - Daniel (Martha) Howell, Rachel (Brandon) Woolard, Breanna (Javan) McGuire, Maegan (Travis) Whitson and Tanner and Taylor Howell; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother - Phillip (Danna) Howell; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter - Kayla White; his parents - James “Bill” Howell and Irene Tucker Howell; his sister and her husband - Martha and J. B. Jamerson; and a brother - Larry Howell.
The funeral service for Mr. Howell was held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
