Most teams hit the road this week

By Scott Johnson
General Manager

Last week was another solid week for predictions, save the Brilliant loss to Meek, 46-26. I had the Tigers winning. Due to Labor Day deadlines, coverage for that game was not available for print. You will be able to find it in our sister paper, the Northwest Alabamian.
Phillips lost to Decatur Heritage 41-10 as I predicted. Stats from that game were not received by the by presstime on Monday.
Here are my predictions for this Friday:
Lynn @ Brilliant
The Brilliant Tigers (0-2) will play at home against the Lynn Bears (0-2). Both of my two wrong predictions this season have been on Brilliant winning, But with Brilliant’s offensive edge, I’ll give it another shot.
Prediction: Brilliant

Hackleburg @ RA Hubbard
With a 2-0 record, the Hackleburg Panthers head back on the road to Courtland to play R.A. Hubbard (1-2). The Chiefs beat Hackleburg narrowly last season 26-24, but I believe Hackleburg has grown this year.
Prediction: Hackleburg

Hamilton @ Oak Grove
The Aggies (3-0) beat Oak Grove (0-3) last season  21-14. Hamilton has only improved this year. They’ll pick up win number four.
Prediction: Hamilton

Marion County @ Pickens County
The Red Raiders (3-0) face the Pickens County Tornadoes (2-0) on the road. Marion County hasn’t beaten this team since 2012. I think that will change this week.
Prediction: Marion County

Phillips @ Waterloo
The Phillips Bears (0-3) will travel to play Waterloo (0-3). Waterloo was able to post 20 points against Hackleburg last week. They’ll win at home.
Prediction: Waterloo

Winfield @ Oakman
The Pirates (3-0) will travel to play Oakman (2-1). Winfield’s offense will overwhelm Oakman.
Prediction: Winfield
