HAMILTON – Auditors say that the City of Hamilton is financially healthy.
Leann Jones and Aimee Gilliland of Wayne L. Riggs PC in Hamilton were present at the Hamilton City Council meeting on Monday, Aug. 16, to present their findings from the municipality’s annual audit. The accountants reviewed the city’s general fund and water department accounts for Fiscal Year 2020.
“Everything that you look at, you’re (the city is) in a better position than you were in the prior year,” said Gilliland while presenting her firm’s findings.
According to the General Fund’s balance sheet, the city’s assets increased by $470,983.57 compared to the FY 2019. The largest changes occurred in cash ($417,000) and receivables ($58,000).
