WHEREAS, the City of Hamilton proposes that the public interest will be served by the vacation of the public highway herein described; NOW, THEREFORE, THAT THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF HAMILTON, ALABAMA, determines that a public hearing shall be scheduled at Hamilton City Hall on the 20th day of September, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of receiving the public’s input on said vacation; and That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of said public hearing in The Journal Record once a week for four consecutive weeks, said notice shall be substantially as follows: On the 20th day of September, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the City Council of the City of Hamilton will hold a public hearing at the Hamilton City Hall, on the City’s proposal to vacate Georgia Circlemore specifically described as follows: Georgia Circle from its eastern intersection with Marion County Highway 35 to its western intersection with Marion County Highway 35. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to post a copy of said notice on a bulletin board at the Hamilton City Hall; That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to serve a copy of said notice by United States Mail, at least 30 days prior to the scheduled meeting, on any abutting owner and on any entity known to have facilities or equipment such as utility lines, both aerial or buried, within the public right-of-way of the portion of said highway proposed to be vacated. ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 2nd DAY OF August, 2021.
