HAMILTON — Marion County Extension is excited to host our Extension Week Open House on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marion County Extension Office.
Please stop by the office located at 372 Seventh Avenue Southwest in Hamilton to meet our staff and enjoy some refreshments. Attendees will also have a chance to be entered for a door prize drawing at the end of the day.
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the primary outreach organization for the land-grant mission of Alabama A&M University and Auburn University, delivers research-based educational programs that enable people to improve their quality of life and economic well-being, while offering practical solutions to real-world problems.
We have agents across 11 northwest Alabama counties who are available to answer questions and host education workshops.
Several of our agents will be on hand during the Open House on Oct. 9 to discuss program ideas or answer general questions.

‘Extension Does That!’
The Open House is being held as part of “Extension Week,” which is Oct. 6-10. This year’s theme is “Extension Does That!” The theme focuses on the broad scope of Extension’s work and how Alabamians benefit from programs in all 67 counties.
As part of the week-long, statewide campaign, the Marion County Extension Office will also use its Facebook page to highlight Extension professionals serving Marion County and programs or services offered by Extension.
If you’ve never been a part of an Extension program, you’re invited to not only visit with us in our office on Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., but also follow us on Facebook at “Marion County – Alabama Extension Office,” “Marion County – Alabama 4-H” or keep up with workshop and events by using the calendar portion of the Alabama Cooperative Extension website at aces.edu.
