WINFIELD — Winfield hosted its annual Mike Spann Memorial Invitational track meet on Saturday, April 6.
The Hamilton Aggies won the boys’ meet with 152 points, followed by Madison Academy with 124 points and Fayette with 96.5.
Jasper High School’s varsity girls won with 123, and the Lady Aggies took second place with 116 points.
Fayette’s girls also came in third place with 110 points.
The Lady Red Raiders placed fourth with 68 points.
There were multiple athletes across all schools in the county and its neighbors who landed in the top three finishers of their event.
Hamilton’s girls placed second in the girls’ 4x800-meter relay, followed by Marion County’s girls in third.
In the boys’ 4x800, Hamilton placed second, and Fayette placed third.
Hamilton’s Meg Wiginton won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles. Fayette’s Aliya Stevenson and Ella Davis placed second and third.
Hamilton’s Elijah Dollar won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles, followed by Fayette’s Makell Dumpson.
Fayette’s Aliya Stevenson also placed third in the girls’ 400-meter dash.
Hamilton’s Joshua Webb won the boys’ 1600-meter run.
Fayette’s girls placed second in the 4x100 relay, and Marion County placed third.
Fayette’s boys also placed third in the 4x100.
Hamilton’s Dylan Segraves won the boys’ 200-meter dash.
Hamilton’s Jane Wiginton placed third in the girls’ 800. Fayette’s Bailey Unger placed second.
Haleyville’s Malachi Carroll won the boys’ 800-meter run in 2:00.44.
Hamilton’s Meg Wiginton and Kyra Casey raced against each other in the girls’ 300m hurdles.
Wiginton beat Casey by a few seconds, but together, they took the top two spots. Fayette’s Aliya Stevenson took the third spot.
In the boys’ 300 hurdles, Hamilton’s Hayden Ables and Elijah Dollar took the first two places, followed by Winfield’s Kane Hendrix in third.
Hamilton’s Kaden Whitaker placed third in the boys’ 3200-meter run.
Hamilton’s boys and girls’ 4x400 teams both placed second, and Fayette’s boys and girls each placed third.
Marion County’s Lily Robinson won girl’s high jump, clearing a height of 4’10”.
Hamilton’s Christian Shipp won boys’ high jump, clearing six feet. Fayette’s Clark Vandiver placed third.
Hamilton’s Taylor Biggerstaff won girls’ pole vault. Marion County’s Lilly Franks placed second. Fayette’s Ella Davis placed third.
In boys’ pole vault, Hamilton swept the podium with Jake Webb, Elijah Robinson and Ian Cole claiming the top three spots.
Marion County’s Jose Luis and Winfield’s Alex Aldridge took fourth and fifth.
Hamilton’s Kyra Casey and Meg Wiginton placed first and third in girls’ long jump.
Fayette’s Destiny Robinson finished in between them in second place.
Hamilton’s Dylan Seagraves placed third in long jump by clearing 20’4.5”.
Fayette’s Orlando Lawson Jr. won boys’ long jump.
Hamilton’s Kyra Casey won girls’ triple jump with a distance of 34’8.5”.
Fayette’s Orlando Lawson Jr. placed second in boys’ triple jump.
Phillips’ Natalee Ward won girls’ discus with a total distance of 92’11”. Marion County’s Anna Prather was second with 77’7.5”.
Hamilton’s Myia Sizemore placed second in girls’ javelin with a total distance of 110’2”.
Haleyville’s Brett Coleman won boys’ javelin with 179’6”.
Winfield’s MaKayla May placed second in girls’ shot put with a total of 30’4.25”.
Phillips’ Natalee Ward placed third with 28’6”.
Fayette’s Isaiah Stowe placed second in shot put with 40’3”.
Hamilton’s Kyra Casey placed second in the girls’ 100-meter dash in 13.14 seconds.
