HAMILTON - Marion County Probate Judge Paige Vick requested $211,128.05 of the funds from the American Rescue Fund that the county received for COVID-19 relief.
Vick plans to use the money to digitize all deeds and mortgages in the Marion County Courthouse.
Vick requested the funds during a work-session meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the commission office in Hamilton.
Currently, the Marion County Courthouse retains all deeds and mortgages from as early is 1901, but only files from 2007-present have been digitized.
Vick stated that she would like to hire a third-party company to scan files from 1901-2007 and make them available to the public online.
