Marion County Extension to host Heirs Property Workshop on Aug. 31; register by Aug. 24

WINFIELD — Marion County Extension will host an Heirs Property workshop on Monday, Aug. 31, from 5-7 p.m. at the Winfield Community Center at 400 Community Street, Winfield, AL 35594.
Heirs property is property passed down informally from generation to generation, generally without a will, or the will was not properly administered or probated.
All heirs own the property equally, and must all agree on how the property is used, maintained or sold. Heirs property presents unique challenges that require careful attention and proactive measures to address effectively.
By understanding these challenges and exploring potential solutions, heirs can protect and preserve their valuable land heritage for future generations.
Join us on Monday, Aug. 31, to learn what heirs property really means, why it impacts families and how communities can take action to protect land, preserve ownership and prevent future conflict. This is a free event. Registration is required. Meal provided. Visit aub.ie/marionheirsproperty to reserve your spot by Aug. 24.
