Student-led art features in Guin mural

GUIN — As you travel along U.S. Highway 43 in Guin from east going west, a remarkable sight meets your eyes. Displayed on the side of the Guin Post Office is a strikingly beautiful and colorful mural spelling out the name of the city. As you continue driving, you might see three other murals in the city, all painted by artist and master mural painter Missy Miles.

State Assesses health needs in Guin

GUIN — The Alabama Department of Public Health hosted a meeting at the Collins Life Center in Guin to discuss issues relating to health and healthcare accessibility in rural communities on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Dog Attack Spurs

GUIN — Residents gathered at the Guin City Council’s regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 19, to bring a recent dog attack, and the related issues, to the council’s attention.

Guin Water Park closed for repairs this summer

Guin Water Park will be closed this summer while repairs are made. Guin’s Mayor Phil Segraves assures it is only a temporary closure.

GUIN — The Guin Water Park will not be opening this summer to give the city time to make much-needed repairs and upgrades to the facility.
The water park has been a key fixture for the city of Guin as well as the surrounding area for decades, serving as host to countless birthday parties and church functions over the years.

Marion County advances to third round of playoffs
