GUIN — During the Guin city council’s regular meeting on Monday, March 6, the council was reminded of pending legislation that would slowly phase out occupational taxes in the state of Alabama.
“I was in a meeting today with our state senator (Garlan Gudger),” Mayor Phil Segraves said during the meeting. “(Hamilton) Mayor Bob Page and I went to Cullman to meet with him regarding the upcoming else we could do.”
Guin City Council Member Bobby Bellew said that if this bill were to pass into law, it would have a significant impact on the city’s finances.
