GUIN — The Winfield Pirates won the 2025 Marion County baseball tournament on Saturday, March 8.
Hackleburg — After receiving a petition from citizens in Hackleburg requesting a wet/dry vote, and after checking to ensure all the names on the petition were registered voters, and after a verification vote by the Hackleburg Town Council on Feb. 17, there will be a special-called election on Tuesday, April 22, to allow a majority of the town’s citizens to determine whether they wish to remain dry or allow local alcohol sales.

HACKLEBURG — His goal is to train to make the U20 Canadian National World team that will compete in the World Athletics Championship in Oregon in 2026. He has many accolades. He is ranked number one in shot put, number one in hammer and number one in weight in the State of Alabama going into the 2025 track season. He is also just 17.
WADLEY — The Hackleburg Panthers lost 69-31 to the Wadley Bulldogs on Friday night, Nov. 30, in the semi-final round of the state playoffs.
The Bulldogs scored two long rushing touchdowns in the first quarter, putting up an unanswered 16 points.
The Bulldogs scored two more in the opening minutes of the second quarter to go up to 30-0.
The Panthers were able to answer when Blaise Vickery made a short run over the goal line. With an extra two points, the Panthers put themselves on the board 30-8.

HACKLEBURG — It was a windy night in Hackleburg Friday, Nov. 8, but the Pickens County Tornadoes were sent home with a 41-6 loss in the first round of playoffs.
The game began with Hackleburg winning the coin toss and deferring to the second half. Kicking off to Pickens County, Panther Aiden Pimentel recovered the ball and set Hackleburg in good position at the Tornado 36 yard-line. Shortly, it was first and goal with Jaquan Reeder on the first touchdown. A good PAT had the score at 7-0, Hackleburg.
HUBBERTVILLE — After winning nine games in a row, the Hackleburg Panthers lost the last regular season game against the Hubbertville Lions 28-22 Friday, Nov. 1.
The Lions won the toss and elected to receive the ball on opening kickoff. Hackleburg’s defense kept things tight and forced a punt before the Lions could get in Hackleburg’s territory, but the Lions returned the favor by forcing Hackleburg to punt.
FLORENCE — The Hackleburg Panthers soundly defeated the Shoals Christian Flame 48-10 on Friday, Oct. 18.
Davin Dulaney scored on a two-yard run, and the PAT put the Panthers ahead 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, Cameron Ingram scored on a 57-yard pass from Blaise Vickery, and another PAT from JonHasten Stidham put the Panthers ahead 14-0.
Dulaney scored again in the first quarter on a 46-yard run. The extra point kick was good once more to put the Panthers ahead 21-0.

HACKLEBURG — The Northwest Resource and Conservation Development Council, in partnership with the Alabama Legislature, met with officials on Monday, Sept. 30, at Hackleburg High School to announce the completion of projects in fiscal year 2024.
