Springfest is this Friday night, Saturday

GUIN — Guin’s Springfest begins this Friday, May 9, with vendors setting up around noon, and live entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. with the Cooter Brown Band and the “Fabulous” Tip Tops from Mobile.
The festival continues on Saturday, May 10, featuring more live music, lots of fun, food, games and attractions.
A dog show has been added to the lineup, with cash prizes of $100 for first-place, $75 for second-place and $50 for third-place. Shirley’s Pet Salon is sponsoring the dog show, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the show starting at 10 a.m.
Another great Saturday feature is the car show, welcoming all makes and models. Registration is from 8 a.m. to noon. Entry fees are $20 per vehicle, with door prizes, gift bags, a 50/50 drawing and cash given away every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for entrants.
Performing live on stage on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., will be the Hankins Sisters, Drake Hollis, Coaltown Sound, Laura Leigh Franks, Axel, the Kerry Gilbert Band, Tremayne, Joseph Baldwin, the Jimmy Miles Band and Handshake Promise.
“Our entertainment is first class, and it’s going to be a great festival,” Guin Mayor Phil Segraves said. “We have some great vendors lined up, with something for everybody.
“Springfest is a great way to kick off the Mother’s Day weekend. Bring the whole family, listen to some great music, visit our vendors, check out all the great vehicles in the car show and enjoy yourself!”
