ARLEY — The Bears suffered a big loss on the road this past week as they lost 72-16 to the Meek Tigers.
Phillips went into their away game with a 0-3 record on the season having just lost to Cherokee the previous week.
All of the scoring action for Meek took place in the first half, with Meek ending the first quarter of the game with a 36-0 lead over Phillips.
The Tigers continued to add to their score in the second quarter, making it 64-0 before the Bears finally had a chance to get into the end zone.
The Bears scored a touchdown through Hunter Scruggs, who scored a 51-yard touchdown with 1:45 left until half time.
The two point conversion was good, and the score was 64-8.
Meek scored again right before halftime, making the score 72-8.
In the third quarter, The Bears were able to get into the end zone again, but they were nowhere near able to climb the mountain of the scoreline that Meek had so aggressively set in the first half of football.
Phillips’ record now sits at 0-4 as they prepare for their next matchup against Brilliant on Friday night at home.
