Farewell to the Journal Record

HAMILTON — In Jan. 2020, I was sitting at The Millhouse Coffee & Cafe journaling and writing down all my goals for that year. First and foremost - a new job. I spent the previous three years working at Red Lobster in Tupelo and a new job was long overdue for me.
Habakkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets...” I knew that it was time to be specific with what I needed and wanted in a new job. So I sat down drinking my hot honey latte and began asking God for just that. I knew that I wanted something closer to Hamilton and a job that I was going to be able to grow in.
A month later, I get a message from Louis Mellini about a position that was open here at the Journal Record. I applied, had an interview and was hired that day. Everything I asked God for in a job a month prior, He gave me. And that’s where my journey with working as the office manager here at the Journal Record started.
I moved to Hamilton in Aug. 2017 to attend the Ramp School of Ministry. Many of you know our former Hamilton police officer, David Frazier. And if he never talked about me, as a brother should, well I’m his twin sister. I was in college in South Carolina when he moved here. It was the first time we had been so far away from each other; 10 hours at that. His first year here, he was praying for me to get saved. Little did he know that his prayers would lead me here to Hamilton and fortunately for him, closer to him and his family. David lives a beautiful life that can be followed. I’m thankful for him and his prayers. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. Even if he did try to kill me in the womb...
I’m coming up on six years living here in Hamilton. Moving here has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve been blessed to meet so many people and gain forever friendships.
After three years of working here at the Journal Record, it’s my time to say goodbye and hello to a new adventure! I’ve accepted another job here in Hamilton, so thankfully I’m not saying goodbye to this city or to you!
I’m excited for all the new things God has for me and expectant for what’s to come.
To Les Walters, Jesse Lamar, Scott Johnson, Mike Moore, Peter Gossett, my lovely co-workers and all of the staff at the Northwest Alabamian, thank you for believing in me and pushing me to succeed in this position. I’ve been honored to work here and get to know all of you.
