HAMILTON - The Hamilton Aggie Band will be hosting a fundraiser during the last First Friday event in Hamilton on Friday, Aug. 6, in downtown Hamilton.
The band is raising funds to buy new uniforms for the new school year.
According to Hamilton Aggies Band Director Zach Corpus, the current uniforms have been used since approximately 2009 and are due for an upgrade after over a decade of general wear and tear.
“Depending on how the kids take care of them, the uniforms will last about a decade,” said Corpus.
Corpus stated that the band is aiming to raise approximately $40,000 to buy 60-70 new band uniforms for the school.
“In my eyes, extracurricular activities like band or football, those are the things that belong to the community and they change the high school from just being a building that the kids show up to, to being something that the kids can really have some pride in,” said Corpus.
