City helps fund new chamber position

HAMILTON — To aid in assisting the growth of the City of Hamilton, as well as annual events planning and overall marketing efforts, the Hamilton City Council voted on Monday, Aug. 19, to increase its yearly donation to the Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber to hold free pickleball clinic; tournament to follow


Mark your calendars for the first pickleball tournament hosted by the Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 21.
HAMILTON — The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its first-ever pickleball tournament on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Hamilton Pickleball Court, located on 10th Avenue Southwest, near the tennis courts.

Chamber to be congratulated on 20th anniversary of community event

One of the most enjoyable Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce events for both the chamber members and the public is the organization’s annual Shrimp Boil.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the fun and tasty event, and everyone was invited out to share in the fun and the delicious shrimp plates and fixings.
The Shrimp Boil is held annually at the Hamilton Fire Department as a way to gather the chamber members, other business professionals and members of the community. It’s also an extremely delightful and likable fundraiser for the chamber.

Hamilton chamber serves up awards for Dinner on First

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual “Dinner on First” awards banquet on April 18 on First Avenue in downtown Hamilton.

Walk of Trees a city, chamber success

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce expected some participation in their inaugural “Walk of Trees” event. What they didn’t expect was to fill all 100 slots available for the project in just three days.

14th Annual Buttahatchee River Fall Fest set for Oct. 26

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 14th Annual Buttahatchee River Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26, in downtown Hamilton.
The fall festival, which will officially kick off at 9 that morning, is a family-friendly event and there is no charge for admission.
This year’s festival will be as jam-packed with fun for the whole family as it has been in the past, according to Hamilton chamber president Lacy Williams.

First Fridays returns Aug. 2

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its final “First Fridays” downtown shopping event on Friday, Aug. 2.
The chamber’s final First Friday’s event was originally scheduled for Friday, June 7. However, it was cancelled due to rainy weather.
The final summer event will take place from 7-9 p.m. with local and satellite vendors setting up booths lining the city square and downtown businesses extending their usual hours to host shoppers.

The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. with local and satellite vendors setting up booths lining the city square and downtown businesses extending their usual hours to host shoppers.
Local musician Chris Williams will be providing entertainment, sponsored by the Alabama Power Foundation and Bevill State Community College.
